Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Hand mixer
  • Mixing bowls

Ingredients

Apple Wedges

  • 3 apples Honeycrisp or Granny Smith, cored and sliced into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 spray cooking spray or melted butter

Caramel Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream cold
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons caramel sauce plus extra for drizzling

Instructions

  • Wash, core, and slice the apples into wedges about half an inch thick. Toss with lemon juice in a large bowl to prevent browning.
  • In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Sprinkle over the apple wedges and toss gently until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for about 3 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the apple wedges in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wedges are tender and lightly caramelized at the edges.
  • While the apples cook, beat the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Gently fold in the caramel sauce, leaving streaks for a marbled effect rather than mixing completely.
  • Serve the warm apple wedges with the caramel whipped cream on the side, drizzling extra caramel sauce over the top if desired.

Notes

For crispier results, cook the apple wedges in batches rather than overcrowding the air fryer basket. Whipped cream is best made fresh, but can be stored covered in the fridge for a few hours. Leftover apple wedges keep in the fridge for up to 3 days and can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 3 to 4 minutes.
